ADMINISTRATION
Central Administration
The day-to-day administration of the Centre is handled by the Central Administration headed by the Director General of the Centre who is the Chief Academic and Administrative Officer.
The Director General is assisted in his duties by a Deputy Director General who acts in place of the Director General when the need arises.
The Central Administration is divided into the Director General’s Office, the Registrar’s Office, the Bursar’s Office, the Library and the Works and Physical Planning Department. Each of the operational administrative units is directly responsible to the Director General of the Centre. The Registry
The Registry is headed by the Registrar who is the Secretary to the Governing Council as well as the Secretary to the Academic Board. He is responsible to the Director General for the day to day administration of the Centre including establishment and personnel matters. Other staff of the office of the Registrar shall consist of the following staff: a Deputy Registrar, Principal Assistant Registrar, Senior Assistant Registrar, Assistant Registrars, Administrative Officers, Executive Officers and other supporting junior staff.
The Bursary
The Bursary is headed by the Bursar. He is responsible to the Director General for the day to day administration and control of financial matters of the Centre. As the professional head of the Finance Office, he has responsibility under the Director General for the organization of the Centre’s accounting systems, the procedure for local purchases as well as liaison with external auditors. Other staff of the office of the Bursar shall consist of a Deputy Bursar, Chief Accountant, Principal Accountant, Senior Accountant, Accountants, Executive officers (Accounts) and other supporting junior staff.
The Library
The Librarian of the Centre is the Chief Library officer of the Centre who is responsible to the Director General for the daily administration of the Centre’s Library. Other staff of the Centre’s Library, called the Mathematical Sciences Library shall consist of the Deputy Librarian, Chief Librarian, Principal Librarian, Senior Librarian, Librarian, Assistant Librarian and other supporting junior staff.
The Works & Physical Planning Department
The Works and Physical Planning Department is headed by the Controller of Works and Services who is responsible for the maintenance of the physical plant, structures and grounds of the Centre. He reports directly to the Director General. Other staff of the Works and Physical Planning Department shall be the Mechanical Engineer, Civil Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Horticulturist, Quantity Surveyor and other supporting junior staff.
